S106 Contributions

Since 2020 when Bryanston Club closed due to the COVID19 pandemic, a team of residents and volunteers from nearby communities have been busy getting the place back on its feet. Brainstorming on how to improve the facilities here were part of that process, and a paint job throughout was the first step towards modernisation.

Dorset Council, Government, local village hall representatives, Blandford Councillors, Architects and other business friends have contributed over the past 5 years to bring together a draft plan on how to enhance our only village asset, bring it into the 21st century and allow it to succeed for future generations in whatever form that holds.

Within that time, we changed from a membership constitution to a Community Interest Company. This meant we could open the doors to the public to allow a wider range of customers, and could benefit from community help.

Money contributions from the Lower Bryanston Farm development have been considered for use on these improvements, so now we are looking at the whole layout of rooms including staff areas.

With more recent help from the Dorset VCSA, the C.I.C. has helped shape the community buildings business, and offering.

A consultation day is planned for January 2026, so look out for that date. This provides everyone a chance to come and speak to T.O.P.I.T. ( The Old Powerhouse Improvement Team) and C.I.C. Directors, view the plans, and have their say.

For now the outline plans can be viewed in the main bar area.
